Clinical Observation on the Transrectal Needle Biopsy

Abstract
|

|
"A clinical observation was made on 38 patients with the suspicion of prostatic cancer in the department of urology, St. Mary`s Hospital during the period from January, 1969 to December, 1978. The results are as follows. 1. The most prevalent age was from 60 to 69 (44.7%) 2. Among 38 cases of the transrectal needle biopsy, the adequate tissues for the histologic diagnosis were obtained in 34 cases. 3. Of 34 cases whose tissue were obtained adequately by the needle biopsy, 22 cases were diagnosed the malignancy of prostate. 4. Among 38 cases of the transrectal needle biopsy, the fever were developed in 4 cases and the
rectal bleeding in one case."
